Summary: Harry is traveling in time. Or maybe he’s just going mad. Or maybe Voldemort has cast a spell on him. There has to be an explanation for why he’s waking up in the morning with memories of spending time with Tom Riddle in the Hogwarts of fifty years ago, as a companion, friend—and lover.
Author’s Notes: This is one of my “Songs of Summer” fics being posted between Halloween and the winter solstice. Moon246 requested a Harry/Tom story with a similar atmosphere to my Harry/Draco story “Promises Made on Wands.” Therefore, this is fairly surreal and has a fairly open ending in which not everything is explained. It should have three parts.

This is for Lillian78, who requested a sane Voldemort kidnapping Harry from the Dursleys and raising him. This went in a wildly different direction from what I was first envisioning; I hope that you still enjoy it.

The word “masque” in the title can be interpreted either as an alternate spelling of the word “mask,” or as the word for the court pageant with elaborate costumes and music.

raphsody606, in incredibly late celebration of her birthday! She gave me pretty much free rein. Here is the result, a fic which tries to imagine paganism existing in the wizarding world but only for a small section of it, rather than the whole (which seems rather implausible given the Hogwarts celebrations of Christmas and Easter, among other things). Oh, yes, and it’s weird and kind of surreal and not meant to imply anything about real-world paganism or neopaganism at all; this is a brand of religion I made up.
