Summary: Ron and Hermione knew Harry was upset about being left out of things during the first part of the summer before fifth year, but they’d never thought he’d be upset enough to request being Sorted into Slytherin, or to start believing that Voldemort is right. Or: A Slytherin Harry story, but as seen from Ron and Hermione’s POV’s.
Author’s Notes: This is part of my “More Theo/Harry in the World Project” and will have at least three parts. This was inspired by thinking about how Ron and Hermione would react to Harry starting to go down a blood purist path, and how they would have lots of reasons to be worried. I love and enjoy Slytherin Harry stories, but was interested in seeing how it would look from the outside.

Summary: AU. Harry Grayson comes to Hogwarts, knowing himself the bastard son of a Muggle woman, his Aunt Petunia’s sister, and an unknown father. When he’s Sorted into Slytherin, the only Muggleborn there, he does what he has to to survive. If that means allying with Slytherins who are willing to overlook his blood for how useful he can be to them, that’s what Harry will do. Honestly, he considers himself lucky to find as much joy as he does along the way.
Author’s Notes: This is a new fic based on a request for the backstory of my one-shot “The Peculiarities of Professor Potter.” You should read that first; it details how Lily and James Potter accidentally magically disowned Harry and left him to grow up in the Muggle world, considering himself a Muggleborn, while the same magic prevented them from telling the truth. This should be fifteen chapters long. The title is a variation of a quote by Kahlil Gabran: “March on, and fear not the thorns, or the sharp stones on life’s path.”

When Harry comes back to the magical world, many people see him as either mad or possessed by Voldemort. Theo Nott sees an opportunity.

Author’s Notes: This is a very self-indulgent story that’s not part of any series, does not delve into all the background of the AU, and does not represent every character’s perspective on Slytherin Harry, which means he may very well be wrong about some of them. I am basically only writing what I want to write. It will also have short irregular chapters. Be warned of that.
