Yay!
I am so happy. I finished the
hd_parallel fest-fic today, and it went so well. Although it did not listen when I told it not to be a novella, this ended up for the best, because I love the ending, and the story moved with this sweetness and grace that I will probably think less of later but which have me flying high right now, and I was writing the ending with tears in my eyes, and it was a very, very well-behaved story.
Did I mention I love the ending?
(THIS is what writing should be like. All the time. Only then I would probably spontaneously combust from the joy).
I was going to post something today, but I'm sorry, I'm just too high on emotion from that fic to properly edit the chapter I have waiting. I promise it will be up tomorrow!
A new idea for a stand-alone fic, "Made To Be Broken." Harry left the wizarding world in disgrace, or rumored disgrace, although no one knows for what. Now Draco needs his help- I haven't figured out why yet- and goes to fetch him from the Muggle world. While he's persuading Harry, a Ministry flunky breaks into the house and tries to kill Harry, only Harry kills him first. The long and the short of it is that Harry agrees to return so that he can solve Draco's problem, but only long enough for that, while a curious Draco tries to discover exactly why the Ministry is attacking their best former Auror.
I'm getting ideas for "Wolf in the Making," the sequel to "The Mark of the Fox." The main problem is that, while I know how it starts, I don't know far it advances along the timeline in my head yet. But I suspect it will end in a difficult, crazy place, with Draco enraged and Harry smug. Time will tell.
I am going to edit the two chapters of Sympathy for the Predators that are sitting on my hard drive and which I hate. I will try to learn to hate them a little less in the process. I promise.
And now I am free, free I tell you, to write any one-shot I want!
