The problem with writing more fics...

is that then I have more things to edit, and they pile up more quickly than I have time to edit them while I'm also writing. And then the writing produces more fics, and the problem increases.
Currently, I have "Virgin Revelry" (about a third edited- it's 28,000 words, okay? This takes time), Chapter 6 of Sympathy for the Predators, and "Ron Weasley and the Entropy of the Situation" done and ready to go. As soon as I go through them, correct typos and other mistakes, and put in all the little pesky HTML it needs to be posted on LJ. (Rich text breaks my computer).
Also, "The Mark of the Fox" is almost done, and Draco is such a bastard. Definitely the worst Draco I have ever written. I am kind of worried about the reaction to this story, to be honest, although there are sequels to come that will change the balance of power in the situation.
Stupid fics.

Date: 2010-01-26 11:59 am (UTC)I just write really fast, I guess. And it helps that my job, while it involves working from home fairly often, doesn't involve many hours in each day at the workplace.

Date: 2010-01-23 06:04 am (UTC)i love copy-editing. i have e-publishing experience. i'll also annoy the hell out of you if the characterization falls apart or the plot somehow is contradictory or whatnot.
*imagines self happily buried under lomonaaeren's rough-ish drafts*
ETA: i can't believe i sent of an offer of my beta services with TYPOS! i'm really rather better than that. and i won't change your capital letters to lower-case, either.

Date: 2010-01-26 02:56 pm (UTC)also note that it'll generally take 2-3 days for me to turn anything under 15k around, probably more like 4-5 days if it's 30k. i generally beta at a speed comparable to your writing, but i've got a nice little stable of writers at the minute, and it's a first-come, first-served world.
i look forward to working with you!

Date: 2010-01-23 06:54 am (UTC)Probably I should be better about commenting so you'd know who I was when I make offers like this. I'll work on that for you.

Date: 2010-01-26 12:02 pm (UTC)Don't worry about it. My RL life is busy, but not insanely busy. I know that many people's are a lot worse.

Date: 2010-01-26 12:03 pm (UTC)The shorter fics/chapters aren't as much of a problem, so I should be updating with them fairly soon, though it might be a wait before the next one-shot.

Date: 2010-01-26 12:04 pm (UTC)I do like having people read the stories and comment, of course, no matter what their degrees! (Or non-degrees).

Date: 2010-01-23 08:20 pm (UTC)Draco being a true bastard sounds delightful. Seems like he might be a bit more canon-level nasty than most H/D stories make him (so that way and Harry have a chance at sucess).
*dances around happily* Virgin Revelry is almost posted?!?!?! I have been agonizing over what Draco's solution would be for nigh a year now, ever since I read the description. Can. Not. Wait.
Really, I can't wait for the next update, whatever it might be. I mean that with all sincerity.

Date: 2010-01-26 12:05 pm (UTC)Oh, yes, he is a very complete bastard. Let's just say that the Mark of the title? Not a symbol that he leaves behind after his crimes.

Date: 2010-01-26 12:06 pm (UTC)Thank you. I'm really glad (and amazed) that people go back and reread older stories as well as newer ones.
