Advise me

It looks like I might not have Internet access on my vacation this week, the way I assumed I would. I'll be able to update Monday and Tuesday, but after that, it's uncertain (right now) until the Monday afterward.

This leaves me with a small dilemma. I was planning on posting Chapter 11 of Corybantes before I left, but it ends on a major cliffhanger. I wasn't worried about that when I thought I would be able to update in a few days. If I can't update until next week, then it might be better not to post the chapter because Chapter 10 ends at a relatively good resting place.

What do you think?

I think post but with the caveat that it's a cliffhanger and it will be a while until the next update - that gives readers the choice of reading or not.

I say put a warning at the top of the chapter explaining the situation and let the readers choose.
And... have a great and well deserved vacation. I think it's good that you won't have internet access. You'll be forced to rest. How awful for you.

I've not been reading you for a while, mostly because I got somewhat busy and then fell behind and then got busy enough to not be able to catch up in one sitting, or even two or three, and I get "all or nothing" stubbornness sometimes. But I'm around! I intend to start reading again sometime this week/end.

Anyway. We're strong souled people who've suffered worse than waiting for a new chapter because our author has a life outside of the lovely stories she gives us. Horrifying though that is.

I think you should update. You write so much and you update your fics nearly every day! Lots of writter leave their readers on a cliff-hanger for weeks at a time. I know I can wait a week for you to post the following chapter. You should enjoy your holidays and not worry about us : if people complain because they wait a few day, just ignore them.

Post!! I don't mind a good stew after a cliffhanger. Makes finally getting to read the next chapter that much more satisfying. Also, you spoil us with such frequent updates that occasionally having to wait longer than we're used to is good for us. lol

Well, I am not the biggest fan of cliffhangers. But, you are the most consistent updater of all the authors I have ever read, so I think it might be worth hearing what happens and then waiting, since there's a guarantee that an ending will arrive relatively quickly.

Cause that's my real problem with cliffhangers: when they're never concluded or you're left dangling from the cliff for so long that it's no longer interesting by the time the conclusion rolls around.

So, basically, post it. Yay for telegraphic sentences that can say everything necessary in super minimalist words.

Well, for heaven's sake, give us the chapter! LOL, you wouldn't be the only author to leave readers gasping for air, so you should know we're probably used to it! Enjoy your vacation, btw.
