I think Harry owes it to Ron and Hermione to go and talk to them before the story comes out in the Prophet. He's been deceiving them for years, it's not fair to let them find out like that – that's what would upset me if I were Hermione anyway, the fact that he couldn't talk to me/her.
Great that they're finally going to shake things up a bit though :D
