I do tend to use Hermione an awful lot to help Harry out. *sheepish* But this is a Harry with at least slightly more insight and initiative than usual, as shown in the way he approached Draco. I think he could do it on his own.
I'm glad you liked Ginny. I've almost always written her as hostile, or at least obsessed with Harry to the point of delusion.
