Well, of course it's not conscious. If he knew how fucked up he was I doubt he'd be as happy. Which is why I said before it makes me sad he's pretty much content doing what he's doing, because at least knowing you're fucked up is a step in the right direction.
And like I said, Harry thinks he knows his sexual preferences. He doesn't even know he doesn't know them; he didn't know he liked his head to be held when he went down on someone, because he's never given up that much to someone, that much of himself to someone.
This is just what I'm seeing. I think it's brilliant there are so many facets to your characters.
