Silence is a protection for Draco, in a way- something familiar. He expects Harry not to press him to speak when he prefers to be silent. Of course, he hasn't quite caught up, emotionally, to the fact that they aren't in the maze now.
Draco knows he has to hear those words, but he really, really doesn't want to.
