I wasn't expecting that. Been a hell of a week, so busy with school and duty and guh....two updates was like something sent directly from heaven and then to see that it ended with a cliffy........................
*sighs* It's just as brilliant as ever. The political intrigue thickens and I cannot stop thinking about what Daphne might have done to Draco's stomach. Somehow, I think it's something disturbing. What is it????
And Ginny.........I am a bit torn, really. In a way I think she genuinely wants to reconcile with Harry and stop living in fear. After all, she's known Harry most of her life, her brother's best friend and the best friend of her best friend (Hermione). Then again, it is also entirely possible that Nott and Diggory are behind her sudden actions, feeding her false (or true?) information about Draco's brewing business to get her to try and lure Harry away from Draco. If that is true, then I'm almost sure Ginny is unaware that she's being used.
Someone dead??? Ho ho ho, who could it be? It would be impossibly interesting if it was someone they knew rather than just a random wizard or witch. What scandal this is for Desire. Terrible for business, along with Nott's agenda with Draco and Diggory's campaign. Psch, it's good that nobody's paying any attention to Diggory's campaign. I'm thinking that they're going to use the unfortunate death to attract people to his speeches, talking about the danger of Desire and somehow managing to insert his campaign in there somewhere. Boo! Somehow I'm thinking that Nott and Diggory must have been behind that death or is it really an honest-to-goodness effect of Desire?
And I have to agree with Draco. Even if you learn something through books or professors, Muggleborns will never fully grasp the intuitive knowledge of those born as purebloods or half-bloods living in the wizarding world. It's just like someone who has just traveled to a new country with a totally different culture. You can love, appreciate and live it but you'll never fully grasp the little nuances of that culture. Though Hermione's heart in the right place, I also think it's something very personal to her because in her mind, it's like she'll never fully be a part of the wizarding world with how Draco paints it.
I must not forget all the SQUEE-worthy moments of this chapter and the previous one. A part of me wants Harry to have that meeting with Ginny so he can move on and lose most of his guilt. It would be easier for Draco to convince him to stop taking the potion. This is just so interesting that it's killing me. And I'm sure this long comment is killing you. Heh.
