I'm glad you liked the separate little stories. At first, all of them were going to be hopeful, at least for friendship if not for love, but I don't think that's entirely realistic; they would have grown even further apart as adults, after all.
In this case, the fic won't be developed further, because I really do want to leave what happens up in the air.
