Well, I understand completely if you have to stop reading. A few people had to- either because of the gore or because the progress of the story doesn't seem to promise a happy ending.
And Draco is meant to seem shady in that scene. After all, Richard's perspective is biased, but so is Harry's perception of Draco.
I think a lot is missing from Draco. At this moment, the holes in his memories are probably the most obvious.
