Good guess on Hermione. She will keep persisting like a persisting thing. She simply can't buy that Draco is being entirely honest with Harry, and she won't let him lead Harry on.
Harry's been kind of spoiled by the peace of the last few years. He thinks people can still change the world, it's just that he doesn't. So he automatically absents himself from such an equation.
As if Hermione would buy that.
Ha! She does not, but Draco is baffling her attempt to argue by using some of her own rhetoric against her.
Glad you liked that "modestly." I'm cautious about most adverbs, but in this case it made the sentence for me.
This Harry has had much more of a chance to become part of the wizarding world than his canon counterpart. I think that's one reason he turned to magic.
This goes along the “weak” comment in the ‘clues about the Incident’ box, right?
Oh, yes. If Draco knew more about the details of Harry's personal life, he might even have figured it out by now.
Hermione joins the process in the next few chapters. After all, she's going to be the one who drinks the potion; she wants some say.
