Oh, wow.

First, I have to say that you have impeccable timing. The past few days have literally been hell for me; my fiance had a heart attack on Thursday and was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. It's been an emotional roller coaster, sheer terror and relief, sorrow, anger, gratitude, fatigue and determination.

Things finally calmed down enough for me to breathe last night. And then I saw that you posted this, but I was too tired to read it. Just knowing that you wrote this for me, though, really made me smile. And that was wonderful all by itself.

So now I've read it, and I love it. I love Draco's thirst for knowledge--about the stars, about Harry. How he used astronomy to figure Harry out. I was concerned about Harry's recklessness, his attraction to danger, and I loved that he had to face that in this story. I loved the centaur magic, and how intimately they were connected to the stars. They saw something in the stars that told them that Harry and Draco had to come to them together to fulfill tests, so they made it happen. I love that there wasn't some darker motive behind Lydia's disappearance. I loved how they both had their own test of courage, and they both realized that they should step back from the edge.

And I loved that they found that they could still have what they needed and be together. Draco's plenty dangerous for Harry, and Draco gives back to Harry, enough that the sacrifice is worth it to Harry. And Harry is plenty passionate for Draco, who seemed to be attracted to Harry's intensity. They complement each other well--something I always like in fic. I definitely prefer stories where they complement each other, not complete each other, because if you have to find completion in another person, you're not whole to begin with, and that doesn't bode well for a relationship. Yet these two are such equals, such strong personalities, that really no one else would do for either of them; no one else would meet their standards. I love that about the Harry/Draco pairing.

I loved that they were both so flawed, but that in having to rely on each other, they both grew, matured. That Harry finally reflected on why he drove partners away, how it was something in him, not his partners. That Draco learned that he valued his freedom and independence more than learning the mysteries of centaur magic. He'll have a much deeper understanding of them now, which will help his career, astronomy and politics.

And I loved the sex, of course. The intensity, the passion, the exhilaration of finally finding someone to be excited about.

I want to know what happens next, but I know that it would be interesting at the very least.

I loved this so very much, [livejournal.com profile] lomonaaeren. And it came at just the right moment, when I needed a laugh and a smile and something to perk me up.

Thank you.
