oh, honesty can be so painful. i think that's what this story is showing most of all -- not that practicing liars are bad, or even more complex, but that the truth can hurt, and doesn't even guarantee that you'll be believed or trusted. that if you come to a new understanding of truth that conflicts with the public narrative of your life, you become untrustworthy. (see: politicians being convinced to change their minds and being thus accused of "flip-flopping."

also: oh, harry. please let draco or severus tend to your physical needs right now.

ETA: ps - could dumbledore be confronted with too much truth and then melt like the wicked witch of the west? "'i'm mel---ting...' dumbledore groaned as the truth started to dissolve him, his twinkling eyes bursting into flames and causing the rest of his mind, face, and body to melt until only his star-spangled robes were left.

harry shuddered at the sight of his mentor destroyed by his own deceptions and manipulations, and buried his head in draco's shoulder. draco, for his part, held harry close to his chest and stroked his boyfriend's hair as he stuck out his tongue at the melted headmaster.

then they went and had hot boysex. the end."
