Thank you! I often feel as if my characterizations stray from canon, which is one reason that many of my stories are set in the future or after a traumatic event that could reasonably be expected to affect the way the characters see the world.
Harry was most definitely feeling that everything would be all right after the wedding, and he just had to hold on until then. That's not the way it works, of course, but he was hoping it would be. And Ginny thought a lot about her own strength, which is good, but then she was terrified, as you say, of Harry's. A relationship where there isn't room for both partners' strength isn't going to work out.
Harry mostly wanted to see what would happen when he kissed her. He thought there might be love without passion, but he was resigned to not finding out. (And yes, that line was cruel).
Glad you liked the sex; it is much more violent than I usually write.
