Woah, I agree with everyone, that's one hell of a cliffhanger! In the last part, since it's from Draco's point of view, it seems like Harry is at disadvantage. Somehow I have this feeling that Draco's being a bit overconfident there, though... Can't wait to see what happens next!
You know, with the way you've portrayed these characters in this story, I keep on thinking, 'No, no, no! You're doing it all wrong!' Since it seems to me that there is no understanding at all between everyone (It's a good thing - it's one of the things that makes this story absolutely awesome, IMO :D) I'm looking forward to the point where they at least start to understand each other a bit better (where not everything is based on assumptions alone).
Can't say which story I'm loving more at the moment, Soldier's Welcome or this one :D
Just wondering, the 'lots of violence' in your header, is that still coming? Because I can't say there has been much up 'till now.
because it suggested some uncomfortable truths about the limitations of his own perceptions down the years That is so canon, except for the part where Snape realises it...
To be honest, I wasn't that interested in this story in the beginning because about every story I've tried to read before that concerns a non-canon parentage were - I'm sorry to the authors out there - pretty close to awful. I like it very much that it started with such a simple and human mistake (comfort seeking drunken Lily, etc.).
