Just wanted to come out of lurking as I do occasionally to say that your portrayal of the Ron here is awesome. For someone who's always been jealous (remember what he saw in the Mirror of Erised?) and wanted to be the star, he sure doesn't put the effort in to even be a good sidekick. I love that you have Hermione torn over it too, and that she isn't a superwoman who can do the work for everyone anymore.
I do think that your portrayal of Draco is good, but... this line: "Draco’s words deserved more attention than that." That's a typical Draco moment but also a side of him that I haven't seen in this fic as much. He has, in the past, said that he was doing things for selfish reasons, but I don't really think it's that so much as his underlying feelings for Harry. An example would be when he went to the Forbidden Forest to save Harry he said that it was to protect his partner because he needed him, but I feel like he really did it for HARRY. You know? I don't know, that line didn't necessarily ring as true for me for Draco's character in this fic. That said, I do love what you're doing with him. I always admire your characterizations, as other commenters have said. You're very skillful with it.
