So, Shadow's back to being a half-suspect-half-employee. That still leaves everything and everyone else floating in mid-air as possibilities...
It is wildly interesting and such a crucial part of Draco's character that he NEEDS to fulfill people's fantasies more than he cares about the ultimate fate of the club. It also reflects his conviction that no one in the club could have killed...crap. What was the dead guy's name again? I've forgotten over the last few chapters.
Draco seems to be reacting strongly to the implications that Harry doesn't care about his reasons, or that Harry perceives Draco wants to use him, rather than reacting to the notion of the case going unsolved or feeling simply hurt by his words. Oh Harry, Draco's emotions go deeper than that...
I love the last line, and also what it implies about Harry missing the point. Draco's repeatedly stated that he's glad it's Harry on the case and that he wants to know Harry's fantasies and have his friendship; yet Harry continues to wonder why Draco doesn't focus on the job/mystery at hand. Harry evidently needs to retake Observation class. :D
Can't wait for the next update.
