Summary: Harry was Sorted into Slytherin when he arrived at Hogwarts and has been in that House for his first two years. Now, suddenly, at the beginning of his third year, the Sorting Hat has decided that he’s a Gryffindor after pulling the Sword of Gryffindor from the Hat to kill the basilisk. Harry deals with being a Gryffindor moving forwards.
Author’s Notes: This is one of my “Songs of the Stormy Seasons,” one-shots being posted between Halloween and the winter solstice. Cruella prompted a scenario that was the opposite of my fic Other People’s Choices, which has a Gryffindor Harry being Sorted into Slytherin at the end of his second year.

Summary: Sequel to “A Darkness Like Fire.” Harry returns for his fifth year at Hogwarts, still bearing the burden of having killed someone. The burdens waiting for him at the school may make that one seem small.

This is another entry in my “Like a Malfoy” series, following “How Like Hatred,” “A Name Like Henry,” “A Godfather Like Him,” “A Year Like This,” “A Path Like Frost,” and “A Darkness Like Fire.” This won’t make sense without the previous stories in the series, so read those first.
