Gah! I can't tell if I find Auror Dearborn or Auror Lopez more problematic at this point. Auror Dearborn (at the moment) appears as if he could be a bit celebrity-cynical of Harry, or just is a fan of Draco. Hard to tell the motive for his offer at this point. Which, I'm sure, you did intentionally. You wonderful evil author you.
So far, the compatible magic is slightly confusing and quite an interesting little twist for our men. (Boys? Which are they at this point? Legally they're men, but emotionally-mentally, I wonder...and that would be an important facet to this story I feel you're handling well. The fact that no one grows up instantly.) I can definitely foresee this compatibility both helping in situations where two people need to work together, and work together well, in addition to providing a vehicle for Harry and Draco to unwillingly become closer.
But what I reall can't wait for? When it randomly springs up in class and either exposes itself or hinders one/both of them in the middle of something, since they are currently both attempting to ignore it. Much fun ensues...
I cannot wait to discover what memory Draco uses when casting a full Patronus, and what shape it will take. Symbolism ahoy!
