Originally, the cause of the blowup between Draco and Harry was going to be Draco's jealousy; he would have realized his feelings that way but alienated Harry spectacularly. But then I decided I wouldn't do it well, because so often jealousy in fiction comes across as so stupid to me. Othello is a case in point.
