If he is any Shakespearean character, I would say (in canon) that he is Desdemona. Let's just hope he doesn't imitate Othello in this story. But coincidence of character does not mean the character reads Shakespeare. I think Snape is a tragic hero in some parts of canon, for example, and yet I find it really hard to believe that he read Hamlet with care and attention. He seems to have internalized Nietzsche instead.
