Snape is mostly focused on how weak it will make him look, at the moment. You're right; it will be good for him to finally get over that.
Glad you liked the rest of the chapter. And glad you saw emotion in Narcissa's letter. I wondered if I made it too formal, but, on the other hand, that's the kind of letter she needs to write with Lucius looking over her shoulder, the same way Draco and Harry need to keep their friendship concealed behind pretenses.
