It's almost a natural reflex for Harry to bare the burdens, I agree. My objection is to Harry's unnecessary stubbornness and insensitivity to his relationship with Draco and Snape. I understand why Harry wants to endure this alone, but both Snape and Draco now know the truth, and it's no longer his own burden. Instead of accepting that fact, though, he dismissed their concerns and retreated back into himself as if it didn't happen and it didn't matter. It's almost as if the prophecy gave him an excuse to live as if his life doesn't matter to other people as long as he wins the war for them. If he didn't actually wanted to be thanked for it, I too would be skeptical that he's playing the martyr, but I think he's been living with this self-dependency and sacrificial mentality for so long that it's become part of his pride- his accomplishment.
