I have, in fact, written multiple fics with Harry/Ginny, but I warn for explicit het, and it's pretty rare, anyway. (I try to include everything objectionable in my warnings, including character death of minor or main characters).
I'm very glad you enjoyed the characters. In this case, though, I think Al actually has more than his fair share of Harry's attention; he was jealous when Harry took a moment to focus just on James. He might have had the confidence to choose Slytherin rather than be Sorted into it.
