I like Luna a lot, too, but I don't know that she's my favorite female character. There's a lot of female characters I like, but I think Hermione is probably my favorite, largely because I am Hermione in a somewhat disturbing number of ways. I also love Tonks (OotP Tonks, anyway, before she got all wussified) and McGonagall. And Ginny, of course.
