And I'm so glad that you like this chapter. I think writing from Draco's POV was actually necessary, to explain some of the odd things he did in the original BBU, so thanks again for requesting this fic.
Draco's perceptions of the world are...limited. :) But when he feels strongly about something, like that spell or the necessity of finding a partner that will make the family strong, then his passion comes through.
Gene may actually show up in this story! Draco is curious about him, and he's already doing research that Harry doesn't know about (and probably wouldn't approve of). There's a chance for a connection there, if Draco can learn enough about him to find him.
When there's blood adoption, I can't see why there would be that much blood-based opposition to same-sex partners. Some people might be freaked out on a personal level, of course.
I've read some fics where last names and first names are randomly interchanged. I just can't see that, after the books.
