Draco can see that the impostor is a threat and take steps to avoid him. The biggest problem with his lack of self-knowledge is that he refuses to admit any problem exists. He thinks of himself as this clever, subtle fellow who can't be taken in by all the traps that catch lesser mortals.
And thanks! I think Harry's friends are understandably frightened by how deep Harry's obsession with Draco is.
