For some reason, almost all the versions of Harry I write share that trait. Mostly, I think it's because of his discomfort with his fame within the canon; one of the strongest parts of the canon history to me is that he grew up neither in the wizarding world nor really normally in the Muggle one, so he barely had any way to deal with ordinary friendship and love, never mind a reputation like that.
