Oh, sorry, I posted before I mentioned my problem with Hermione's actions.
Yes, she did try to help. Yes, it was what a friend is supposed to help, even when the other doesn't realise or want help. But she want the wrong way about it. She assumed Harry suffered MPD, which is a severe psychiatric condition. And then she went ahead and told Harry he's ill and that she'll betray his secrets to the first Healer that she meets. It's a double mistake - first, with psychiatric patients there's nothing more important than their trust. Harry showed he trusted her and she did the worst mistake - she failed his trust. Not only that, it was no top of Ron's homophobia and not considering what it might have cost Harry to tell them all of it.
She acted out of good intentions, but as I said in my comment to chapter 37, the road to hell is paved with those. She made a dent in their relationship no smaller than Harry's ten years of lies. She didn't think that sick or not, after ten years of not knowing Harry he is probably different. She didn't even try to see things from another angle apart from her own. That's not Hermione as we know it. She usually reads and researches before she jumps, but this time she did jump ahead and fell off the cliff. And the friendship that keeps fer from smashing down is getting thiner by the second. It is sad really.
I like her and I appreciate her effort, but her approach was wrong all the way. And Ron, while so deeply set in his homophobia, I also understand, it is hard to overcome years of set and ingrained views on something. I'll see how this issue is resolved.
Sorry for the double post and everything, but I'd really love a discussion if you feel like one.
