Some characters have died, but in this case, they were all OC's, and in the past. (That will be revealed through Pensieve memories). The mystery takes a while to be solved, though.
To do italics, it's (close the spaces) < i > to begin and < / i > to end them.
Glad you liked Harry's characterization! I'm doing a less mature Harry here than in many of my other fics, since only his sexuality crisis has affected him since DH, and he's ignoring that as much as possible.
Hermione thinks Harry would be so much better off if he would just listen to her. Of course, she always thinks that. :)
The next chapter does include a few details that are not very pretty.
