AMWM 15 (aka Freedom of the Press)

I simply relished every moment of Rita's search for the truth. There is nothing more entertaining than watching a "true professional journalist" rooting out the facts without shame. She in not intimidated in the least and comes across in the best traditions of Murrow and Wallace. She is, quite simply, brilliant, and has plenty of juicy morsels to spread the word to the masses. I think Willowberry was so out of his element that he deserves a modicum of pity, despite his admonition to Harry after the interview. But he seems beyond realizing anything but the most basic nuances of a situation and then doesn't react properly and sinks back into the holes in his head. Kudos to Hermione and Millicent for setting up the deal, btw!

When Draco thinks "Granger does good work." I wasn't sure what he meant, at the time, but it was such a monumental admission of respect. And when it was revealed exactly what she had done, I thought Draco hit it right on the head.

Like Draco, I too sensed desperation from Diggory. Why would he want to confront and even attack Draco in daylight, in the view of witnesses, or even surveillance spells? Draco's defensive potions and the means by which he activated them was extraordinary. It wasn't something I expected, though his calm rebuke of Diggory, even after knowing he was being stalked should have clued me in. The reflective shielding of the potions is an enormous tactical advantage. It's kind of surprising they haven't been more disclosed. I suspect that master-brewers probably keep them a secret amongst themselves precisely because of their utility.

Well it's nice to know that Daphne was good for something after all ;-} The recording of the unprovoked attack on Draco is just the sort of PR nightmare that Diggory should have wanted to avoid. Silly man!

Thanks for another fantastic update!
