Sorry I've fallen behind in reviewing ... again, but this time a family visit was the legitimate reason. I loved the re-bonding in the hospital as Draco and Harry reaffirmed their love for each other, not in passionate or desperate circumstances, but in the clear light of day and without interference. Well, except for the well timed entry of Millicent, whose short but important visit was amazing. I so want to know what she and Hermione have planned for Lucius! And after the moment is lost, it's sadly back to the realities they confront and no time for shagging the incapacitated ;-}
The modus operandi of Draco's mind contained within "considering how many reluctant agreements he’d managed to extract from Harry yesterday, he supposed he owed him one small victory," while selling more Desire out of Malfoy's Magical Mixtures is awesome. It isn't so much the power dynamics as the mental flirtations of a man who has fallen hard and yet retains his essential qualities, while he still "practiced grimaces and smiles," presumably in a mirror. Brings a smile to my face just imagining it.
I don't have a particularly good impression of Willowberry. I know he's just doing his job, and he did by accident help save Harry from Narcissa's attack, but there's an underlying notion that he's a little too bureaucratic and entrenched in rules and the Ministry's hold to approach the situation with the objectivity of a competent investigator. I did a serious double-take when Rita showed up in all her glory.
A delightfully fun chapter with a cliffhanger that was definitely a surprise!
