CotG 35 (aka Everybody Wang Chung Tonight)

Alas, I have fallen way behind again and RL won't give me much of a chance to either catch up, nor offer my preferred quality of feedback that you so richly deserve!

Briefly, this was an important transition chapter. From the very beginning when Harry's temper flies following the numerous letters, I got the feeling that he is being more himself. It was funny seeing him create magic bump letters to reply to the numerous correspondences his received. And he did his best to make reasoned answers to those who might see rational arguments.

It seemed that when Harry stepped into Horace's persona he was slipping a little, but it seemed a way to deflect the overwhelming hurt, or perhaps just apprehension, that Ron & Hermione weren't going to support him. But you can't argue with the balanced approach he was taking towards them, no matter how he arrived at the conclusion.

And then we come to what is probably the most important question in this entire novel, " What does Harry Potter wear?" If there is anything more symbolically important (during Pride Month, no less), I can't think of it ;-} And Draco's canny replies touched me, particularly when he insisted, "You deserve to be happy."

As the party progresses, all I could think was I'm glad the lesbian couple wasn't a Seattle Mariners game (*snort*). I'm glad that Nusante's coming around, but he just irks me in his self-righteousness and I don't think I'll really like him again for a while. Then again, going back several chapters I was so upset with Harry that I am almost launched vituperative comments about his character, so there's fluidity in my emotional reactions, as well. And now Lucius ... watching boys kissing ... the sheer beauty! And was that last line a peep from our beloved merciless voice?

Now to the next installment ... Thanks again!
