Ron and Hermione are doing something at the moment that they hope will enable them to tell Harry he's wrong without losing his friendship. Hermione is planning to confront him, but not without a lot of information at her disposal.

Harry, for what it's worth, did anticipate them charging in to confront him as well; he owled them before he did the interview for that reason. But they haven't shown up, so the interview came out first by default.
