It is sad. But I think Harry would also argue that he enjoys what he's doing, he's an artist, and other people would try to make him sacrifice his art.

Draco is, in fact, bisexual; it's been mentioned a few times. But if he came out as bisexual, his parents would still probably try to force him into marriage, so Draco is pretending to be utterly gay to cut that option off at the root.
