highly dysfunctional, but very, very interesting. I live in southern CA part time, so when all the malibu/san diego/bloody everywhere fires were going, it made a definite impact, and a lot of people I know were directly affected by the fires. this was a fascinating twist on the 'lover's fire' description, and I can clearly picture the wildfires in my head as I read it. I'm not quite sure what I think of the relationship, but I really enjoyed seeing the story from all the other characters POV, and that you really have to infer from them what to make of it. I enjoyed the writing, it's definitely a unique piece.
