O shit, I don’t even want to think what Daphne will do to Draco. How did she know? Has she been spying on them? Well, most likely, but how? The way she took down the wards, so easily… that was the reason of the first visit, wasn’t it? To study the wards. She has to be extraordinarily powerful to break through Harry’s strongest wards (unless they weren’t as strong as he thought). Man, I can’t wait for Harry’s confrontation with her!!
Ha! I suspected that was the reason the potion wasn’t working as usual :D He’s handling it very maturely, so far: accepting what’s happening and admitting he can’t control his emotions because he relied in the portion too much was more than I expected from him. Of course, the biggest test is yet to come.
As much as I hate Draco suffering, I reckon the best thing would be for Harry to come back home after she’s left. Otherwise, he really might loose it (and it would be a pain in the ass to bury the body afterwards :P) No matter how powerful and skilled Daphne is, she wouldn’t be much of a challenge to an enraged Harry. Not when his magic is like that. IMO it would be best for him to find out later and cool down a bit before going after her. Either way there’ll be a Harry Potter Guilt Fest unless Draco can convince him that it wasn’t his fault the wards didn’t work.
I wonder what the future of the potion will be. After all, Ginny’s opinion doesn’t matter if the potion won’t work the same way. Even after everything’s settle and Draco’s not in immediate danger anymore, I don’t think his priorities will change back to how they were. In that case, why keep taking it? The best thing Harry could do right now is re-learn how to deal with his emotions.
I loved Draco’s letter, the Slytherin way to do things is so intricate! I figured Cordelia would fight, but not that it would be with Acromantulas! I’m curious now, does the potion affects his magic only when it comes to Draco’s safety?
This was a very exciting chapter! Looking forward to more :)
(And of course, Harry just had to tell a little too much to Cordelia ::lol::)
