Harry sacrificing himself for Draco, leaving us with no idea of what’s going to happen next, that’s my definition of ‘terrible’.
That was so unexpected! I mean, I knew what Harry’s plan was, but I never thought it was going to happen this soon. That totally caught me by surprise. And I loved that :)
I was expecting a fight against Richard or for him to resist and try to escape imprisonment… but I liked how he acted more (even if I would have loved to see Griffindor’s potion in action, it sounded way cooler than Veritaserum). Not only it was another unexpected thing, it fitted his character. Oh, how I love him (I still want Draco to make him suffer, though). What bothered me was that in sacrificing himself, Harry did exactly what Richard wanted. In a way, I don’t think there’s better punishment for Richard than not making the real maze (plus making sure it’ll never be made).
Harry… he wanted Draco to have a life, but did he thought what kind of life it would be? Aside from all the therapy he’ll need, without Harry there it’ll be extremely difficult for him to have a normal life. Even if he helped Harry rescue everyone, he did participate (willingly at first) in the research and in the tortures (if unwillingly). Honestly, if Draco comes out of all the commotion without any further traumas, I can only see him spending the rest of his life obsessed with finding a way to bring Harry back. Besides, although Harry saw all the terrible things he did, and saw Draco at his lowest, he still fell in love with Draco. There’s no way Draco would just get on with life…
That’s why I can’t wait for next chapter; there are so many things that could happen I have no idea what to expect.
(By the way, is there any reason why Richard was using Draco’s voice, other than because he’s a sadistic bastard?)
