Ow. This chapter just broke my heart. That last scene hurt most of all, more than watching Draco get skinned, more than his stomach being ripped apart, or his voice being lost. I know you wrote it, so I feel silly quoting it back to you, but this, this just tore me up:

"You can’t leave me, Draco said...Never leave me...It would take him years to recover from the memories of the pain he had suffered...he would need company and support...As the person who had discovered the pain beside him, who had seen the memories firsthand, Harry was the companion he wanted...But when Harry thought of all the people who would be better companions for Draco...he was not sure he should agree. ...Draco’s throat constricted. Harry was sure he was uttering a sob of desperation...He reached forwards and swept Draco into his arms, communication sphere and all. Draco dropped the glass at once to hold him greedily, fingers digging into his robes and skin, clinging to reality."

Just that entire part. It is so scary to see Harry hesitating not because it's not what he wants or because he thinks he isn't the best one for Draco (which he totally is, the idiot), but because "what he might have to do to free Draco from the maze." If I know Harry Potter, that sounds like some self-sacrifice talk.

I am really hoping to see a confrontation between Richard and Harry before all this is over. And I can't wait to hear Draco's voice, to have him actually converse with Harry. That will be so strange!

Thank you!
