Ah! I like your explanation of the potion. I thought from previous chapters that Harry actually had raped Ginny, or had at least hurt her during sex somehow. This makes much more sense and is much more in keeping with Harry's character - just the presence of that feeling inside him, the "almost" of it horrified him.
