Well, like everyone, I thought Harry's reasons weren't that bad to actually have to repress himself so much. And it never occurred to me that that was the reason, his blend of lust, jealousy and rage, which is admittedly very dangerous. But the point is Harry didn't actually do anything irreversible, did he? Ginny wasn't raped, dead or worse. Harry held himself back but the poor bloke finds it damning to actually even just feel like doing those horrid things to other people, to someone who he loves, no less. Sometimes we just get so stuck with the 'what if I really had done that???' that we forget to remember that no, we stopped just in time.
Also, when you wrote that Harry wanted to devour her, I had a flash of cannibalism or the Dementor's Kiss. It seemed to fit Harry's devouring need that time. AND I love how you incorporated so originally the idea of Harry's chest monster, which we all love, c'mon. =)
I thought Ginny was crass in the way she told Harry she wanted to explore other options. The first thing she did was actually flirt with another guy, and kiss him (because seriously, that wasn't a bro-sis kiss was it?) and then tell Harry that she was bored with him. I never did like Ginny.
And I'm so glad that I guessed it right. Not being able to control his magic properly as a side effect, I mean. And Draco is Harry's friend, a real one, and he wants to be more. Squee. There are still so many things I want to know and I'll have to wait for the sequel. You did mention that Draco would be seeing someone else in the sequel, right? Hmmm, I wonder why. But I'd still love wrist-licking and the sequel will be slash already, right? Or not?
I truly did love this, as you can guess from my long comment. You are a brilliant writer. Kudos. ♥
