Draco's giddiness made me laugh. He so wants to accomplish something
now, now, now
.
The only reason they shifted to first names was the core-sharing, really. When that ended, so did their feeling of intimacy.
It was actively painful for Harry to rip himself away from Draco like that, but he was so afraid...
And it's interesting that you caught his reference to family as a reference to the Weasleys!
