Very interesting chapter. With politics starting to play a role now the story will have more continuity, it integrates this part better (I thought it was going to be only about brewing and the development of the trio’s working relationship).
I liked knowing more about Draco’s choice for becoming an apothecary, and even more the reason why he chose to reveal part of it ::loves Draco:: So Draco knows the potion affects Harry’s emotional side, and he saw the potion appears, in particular, to prevent Harry from feeling nervous. If that’s true then Harry fears what he could do when he feels nervous. I still have no idea what the nature of the Incident was :P So Draco only has to know there was an Incident to figure it all up, right?
I don’t like Diggory. I don’t trust him AT ALL. There’s something off about him. The “competent servants” comment for one thing, I find his choice for words peculiar and I’m not sure if it was a slip or if it doesn’t mean anything. What I got from that is that he wants complete power, and for that he needs his supporters in the Wizengamot. Then there’s the “not just a tool” comment. There’s also the fact that he knew what makes Harry tick, and one of the purposes of the meeting (IMO) was to judge how much Harry could be manipulated. Needless to say, I worry throughout their meeting ::lol:: I kept expecting Harry to give away something about the potion they are developing. Actually, he did. Cordelia supports Diggory, she knows about what the potion’s suppose to do and judging from what Diggory said, he (they) knew about Hermione’s depression. It doesn’t take a genius to know Hermione would beneficiate from it. When Harry said he couldn’t promise to support Diggory yet, he told them about the potion’s progress. Come to think of it, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was another purpose for Diggory’s visit... Ok maybe I’m reading way too much into little things :P One thing is certain, Malfoy will find that story anything but amusing ::lol:: We’ll see everything Harry let on once Malfoy demands the full, detailed story.
He was certainly the most open politician Harry had been around I found very amusing the difference in the first impression Diggory made on Harry and Draco (when he saw the picture in the paper).
