*coughs* Can I guess that it actually limits his magic, as the thing he dislikes the most is being different and stared at and whatnot, and that the Incident he refers to would be something when his magic went out of control and as a result someone got harmed/killed/etc. ^^ That's just my guess, seeing as how you stated this would be the two of them falling into a relationship over time with a more mental component, then it would make little sense for Harry to be opposed to a homosexual relationship on the basis that he wouldn't have the adrenaline factor that exists in most other stories?
But I'm probably wrong. I just think that it helps limit Harry's magic, and that he keeps taking it so that he doesn't have to have all that immeasurable power - and that he doesn't want Draco to know so that Draco doesn't look at him like some sort of uber-magic power source.
