I decided there wouldn't be much point in keeping the scar a secret for long, since the major point of the story was Harry helping Draco to recover.

I chose the title first, then made Harry a gardener and gave him a snake...and then decided to run with it. Raphael was a deliberate choice, and so were the flowers.
