Thank you! I definitely think that writing it more slowly than usual lets me experiment more with the language and think in more detail about the plot developments.

Lucius at this point in his life is, I think, past most of the sins of his youth. He's not kind by any means, but he can think about being cruel and whether it would gain him anything, and he knows that it doesn't always do so.
