I love the theme of this story; I was always a sucker for fairytale-inspired or -themed stories. A pretty title, too.

In the AN you mention Thomas the Rhymer as a source of inspiration, but I also wonder did you have the Riddle-Master (if indeed you've read it) in mind? What with the harp, and wind, it somehow felt similar.
