Very enjoyable chapter, with lots of interesting things.
First, Auror Dearborn. I really hope he doesn't turn up being evil (I have a weird feeling about this... I know Draco doesn't trust easily, unlike Harry, but he could latch onto the first person that shows respect in his abilities). Draco needs positive feedback. Snape did that but it was complicated, with him being a double agent and his praising Draco to annoy Harry (though I do think it was sincere, in a way). You mentioned Draco's standing in the way to having friends and it made me think... does he even know how to make friends? He never had a real one, IMO.
Second, Harry's fits. I wonder what he means with that. Hmmm. Can't wait to find out. It was also interesting how adamant he is in keeping his image of Draco as Hogwarts Malfoy (the one he knew and it's safe) instead of this new stranger who has feelings.
And last, I liked finding more about compatible magic. If it's true, then it means Draco could be a more appropriate partner for Harry than Ron, not a happy thought for Harry. Or Ron, haha. I loved Draco's happy memory :) I want to find out his patronus' form.
“My steadfast good nature,” Draco said in a completely inflectionless voice as he hung up his robes on the hook in the wall. “It flows out of me in boundless copiousness and must be shared with the world.”
Not only was this funny, the vocabulary is sign of his upbringing. I like the contrast to Harry's way of talking.
He’s not that interesting
I've got a feeling you'll prove yourself wrong faster than you think, Harry XD
